New project offers 'Skills Associate' opportunities

The West Yorkshire Consortium of Colleges (WYCC), is inviting applications from ‘Skills Associates’ to provide coaching for SME employers and their employees who are 'poised for growth' in the Leeds City Region. This will form part of the Higher Performing Workplaces project which is funded by the European Social Fund, and aims to support businesses to grow and prosper.

The tender opportunity has been made live on WYCC's In-tend portal with applications accepted until 5pm on Wednesday 3 July. The focus will include these sectors:

Higher Performing Workplaces

  • Creative and Digital
  • Finance and Business
  • Hospitality and Tourism
  • Low Carbon and Construction
  • Manufacturing and Engineering
  • Medical Technology
  • Transport and Logistics

For employers, Higher Performing Workplaces activity will be 40% part-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF), allowing them to access quality coaching at a reduced cost.

The Higher Performing Workplaces project aims to:

  • Improve staff motivation, leadership, communication and teamwork
  • Increase staff retention
  • Enhance employee involvement and commitment to the company
  • Ensure higher levels of financial performance by employers to support growth, business strategy and operational planning
