No description available

The Further Education (FE) Catalyst Learning project set out to strengthen the professional development and progression of the West Yorkshire FE workforce.

WYCC pilot project:

The West Yorkshire Consortium of Colleges (WYCC) received funding from the Department for Education (DfE) Further Education Professional Development Grants to support the pilot project, 'FE Catalyst Learning'.

Training packages were designed to address challenges faced by staff entering further education from industry as well as upskilling existing staff in vocational areas.

The objectives were to:
  • Develop new and existing further education teaching staff
  • Fully enhance teaching capability and confidence
  • Facilitate peer to peer experiences that enrich curriculum delivery
Innovative training packages will be developed and delivered focussing on the following teaching themes:
  • Socratic questioning
  • Belongingness
  • Digitalisation within the classroom
  • Emotions coaching
  • Blended learning and virtual learning environments to aid classroom learning

A selection of expert facilitators delivered the training to learning facilitators from the eight colleges involved.
