The Skills Service announces new opportunities

The West Yorkshire Consortium of Colleges (WYCC) has announced new opportunities for training providers that will help enhance the current offer of The Skills Service.

The Skills Service offers SMEs in the Leeds City Region the chance to plan and train their workforce in order to grow the business and plan for future success. Business can access 40% European Social Fund funding towards the cost of courses listed on the Skills Catalogue, or specialist skills which are procured. The catalogue currently lists courses in 16 different categories which are delivered by 24 training providers.

The Skills Service Catalogues

The latest invitation to tender will procure in-demand training for employees working within the following sectors:

  • Hospitality and Tourism
  • Medical Technology
  • Financial and Business Services
  • Transport and Logistics
  • Manufacturing and Engineering (including textiles)
  • Creative and Digital
  • Construction, Low Carbon and Environmental Technology

The training will complement the existing offer in the following skill areas: accounting and finance, business skills, catering and hospitality, computing and IT, construction, customer service, digital and creative, education and training, health and safety, human resources, leadership and management, manufacturing, procurement and logistics, quality and compliance, sales and marketing as well as technical training.

The new training courses will be added to The Skills Service Catalogue and promoted to businesses from September.

Applications must be submitted by Monday 3 June, and the contract would start from 1 July 2019 and end on 31 March 2020.
