The West Yorkshire Consortium of Colleges has been successful in bids for a number of regional projects to deliver green skills.
Working together with our colleges, partners and employers, we will continue to bid for funding that can enhance the capacity of colleges and training providers in the region to support employers and deliver training.
These pages provide updates and events specific to the green agenda, as a result of our funded projects.
Strategic Development Fund - Department for Education (DfE): £2.6 million within West Yorkshire Colleges including capital investment to increase specialist equipment to deliver electric vehicle and retrofit training. This investment also supports colleges to embed green knowledge within the curriculum and improve links with businesses to develop and enhance their green skills through The Green Skills Service.
Skills Connect (including Skills Bootcamps) - West Yorkshire Combine Authority (WYCA): WYCC is delivering fully funded low carbon courses for individuals as part of its contract with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority. This project also includes construction, engineering and digital delivery. A part funded offer for employers, Skills Bootcamps is also available under Skills Connect.
Collaborative Apprenticeships - European Social Fund (ESF): WYCC can offer fully funded (free) training courses for businesses in the Leeds City Region to support managers and future managers of apprentices. These courses include sustainability and other green skills programmes.
