Digital Innovation: Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering

Kirklees College will lead the development of an advanced manufacturing and engineering hub. This will support a network across West Yorkshire to bring together knowledge and facilities to develop innovative skills.

Working together with Bradford College and Luminate Education Group, the project will include the development of new interactive and immersive learning and skills in areas which have previously been dominated by traditional manufacturing and engineering methods.

The collective aim will be to develop new skills to stimulate and support the rapid growth of the UK’s advanced manufacturing sector. New skills are essential to support the transition into digital solutions and autonomous robotic systems.

The project will focus on robotics, additive manufacturing and advanced process manufacturing.
