On 1 April 2009, Leeds City College was formed following the merger of three of the city's renowned further education institutions. Leeds City College is now one of the UK's largest FE establishments, offering a diverse curriculum to over 40,000 students.
The college provides a vibrant, mutlicultural learning environment, delivering excellent and innovative education which is supportive, inspiring and life changing. Across the college there are 127 countries represented by students with the diverse staff population adding to that number!
Courses cover almost all subject areas and include full and part-time academic and vocational qualifications through from basic skills to apprenticeships and A Levels to Foundation Degrees. There is something to suit the needs of everyone from pre and post 16-year-olds to adult learners, employers and businesses.
Leeds City College operates from five main campuses - Horsforth, Keighley, Park Lane, Technology and Printworks - as well as having provisions in smaller community centres across the region.
The college is renowned for a number of key specialisms, with National Skills Academy status for Community Sport Enterprise, Creative and Cultural Skills, Food and Drink Manufacture, Hospitality, Retail, Financial Services and Sports and Fitness, as well as accolades for Computer Technology.
Leeds City College employs close to 1,300 staff, making it one of the area's largest employers. In 2012 the College was given an OFSTED rating at Grade 2, Good, with Outstanding features, for the overall effectiveness of its provision.
