The course explores the range of issues younger workers can face when entering employment and will provide you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to effectively manage your next generation of workers. Individuals attending will gain an understanding of the legislation relating to the employment of younger workers, with a focus on employment status including apprenticeships, the challenges younger workers can face when entering employment and best practice for developing policies and procedures, to ensure the smooth transition from education to employment.
The course will also cover:
- Myths and facts surrounding the employment of younger workers
- Internships, apprenticeships and zero hours contracts
- Guidance on planning an induction process for younger workers that will encourage their retention
- The importance for creating a fair workplace for all ages
